As I built the #5 Baritone, my first all wood ukulele from scratch, I wanted to practice some of the techniques beforehand. Rather than just use scraps to discard, I decided to make a uke-shaped cutting board. I practiced cutting rosette and binding channels, which became much less intimidating in the process. Just for fun, I added a peghead veneer and faux frets. I decided it was too nice to chop vegetables on, so I flipped it over and made it into a cribbage board for Katherine. The “tuners” unscrew to become the game pegs.
