I built this long-scale tenor in tandem with my Diamondback uke. They share the same dimensions and construction features. I built them based on the excellent Advanced Ukulele video course by Jay Lichty and Robbie O’Brien. Firsts for me on these builds were cutaways, ducted soundports, arm bevels, more complicated headstocks and binding, resawing my own lumber for backs and sides, and custom rosettes.
This was built as a gift for my brother, Dave the Wave, as reflected in the abalone rosette and the curl in the peghead, which was very tricky to bind.
The myrtle, combined with the cedar top, has a lovely tone and features low G ukulele tuning.
