This was my first ukulele, built from a Stewart MacDonald kit as a Christmas gift for my wife Katherine, in the midst of completing my Evolution banjo in 2012. The sides were pre-bent mahogany, the top and back were pre-cut as were the sound hole and rosette channel. The neck was also carved and the fret slots cut. Assembly was pretty simple and a good introduction to how guitars and ukuleles are constructed. I was hooked. It also made a very nice little ukulele that plays and sounds great.
